Prior to joining VizX Labs, Thompson developed extensive business experience in market sectors including technology, financial services, retail, distribution, production and services. Thompson held positions as COO and CEO in multiple startup and mid-market companies, as well as a Group VP in Rollins, Inc., a public company. He has been involved in managing turnarounds, high growth opportunities, acquisitions, divestitures and raising capital and successfully built and sold several companies of his own. Jeff Kozlowski – Director of GeneSifter DevelopmentAs one of the original inventors of the GeneSifter microarray analysis system, Kozlowski continues to lead the creative and engineering efforts that earned him patent and product innovation awards for breakthrough utility and ease of use. He was previously Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Neobase, Inc., a bioinformatics company that merged with VizX in 2001. Prior to that, Kozlowski was a lead programmer and oversaw system administration at Virtual Communities, Inc., a pioneering Internet company. At VCI, he developed tools that enhanced hosting, support and management of large Linux clusters. Originally trained and employed at the University of Washington as a research scientist in the Department of Pathology, he also completed various computer science certification programs there after earning his BS in Biochemistry.
PETER ROBERTS –Director of SCIENCEPeter Roberts has spent his entire career studying gene expression, from developing his own northern blotting technique, through analyzing serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE) data at Genzyme, to a role in the development of the Applied Biosystems microarray platform. Peter has a background as both a research scientist, primarily in the field of molecular virology and therapeutic anti-viral drug development, as well as in bioinformatics. He has worked at a number of leading biotechnology companies, including Genzyme, Celera, Serono and Hybridon. Peter has a B.Sc. in Microbiology and Virology from the University of Warwick and a Ph.D. in Microbiology with a minor in Computer Science from Montana State University.
